A patient presented to our rooms requesting a new smile. Examination revealed that his upper front teeth were worn down. In addition while the patient smiled the front teeth looked short and non aesthetic.
It was decided to place 6 porcelain crowns.
The teeth were prepared in a single visit with fittings and temporary crowns placed. The temporary crowns were used as a diagnostic aid to assess the shape, form, bite and gum health. Photographs were taken before and after the temporary phase. The pictures were useful in assessing the teeth as to the way forward. Looking at the colour of the prepared teeth it was decided to use zirconium cores to enhance the colour.
Two weeks later the porcelain crowns were cemented onto the prepared teeth.
